Hit Men

Last Saturday we had a pleasant surprise. Carolyn and Dave Dennstedt dropped by for a visit. They were in Boston to see their son JJ play soccer against Brandeis. JJ goes to University of Rochester.

Carolyn is Uncle John's daughter and Bob's first cousin and her husband Dave used to play in drum corps with Bob. They live in Farmington - which is just outside of Rochester, near pretty Canandaigua Lake.

We had a ball. They just happened to arrive during the Marblehead Fall Festival so we ended up walking all over town and sampling chowder and lobster bisque along the way.

Dave confirmed it...The Barnacle in Marblehead serves the BEST lobster bisque in the world.

So what does this have to do with hit men?

We found out that Dave is a member of a brass band called The Hitmen. They're all ex-drum corps guys and they can still wail. Their shtick is that they're all mafia gangsters. It's a riot. Think of it as Gangster Brass.

We've decided we've GOT to go back to New York and see one of their gigs
