Recently 742 American adults were surveyed on use of torture against suspected terrorists. 54% of those who attend church at least weekly say it's often or sometimes OK to torture.
People unaffiliated with any religious group were least likely to back torture.
Some of these churchgoers must not have gotten the memo from Jesus about, you know... not torturing people and how, um... Jesus himself was tortured and ....emmm well he's right up there on the cross as proof.
